heavy based pan,

Add hot veg oil, mustard seeds, leave a bit, add half a chopped oinion, and lots of garlic, soften. Add loads of any spices you have in the cupbard, but ussually cumin, corriander, chillie powder, and curry powder, fry a bit longer, add lentils (Red Lentils split - no need to soak over night, wash first) a stock cube (chicken or veg) and loads of water, bring to the boil, turn down to a simmer put lid on leave for about 45 - 60 mins stir occasionaly feel free to bash the lentils a bit with the wooden spoon. Feel free to add more waterif it looks too dry.

serve when hungry (and it seems to have reduced down)
